Season 2011 Week 03 Recap

Are you feeling down? Do you need that pick-me-up after a depressing day? Well there’s a team for you! Join the Washington Redskins Fanclub today! Enjoy dropped balls, Grossman bombs, and the feeling of despair as your team loses to only field goals! In other news, another week and we’re down to two undefeated teams, Guns of the Navarone and browns backups, will anyone take these juggernauts down???

BARN-BURNER OF THE WEEK:
** browns backups DEF Wildcats Rule by 8.60 points **
With a combined 13 double-digit earners between these two teams it was a slugfest until the end. Wildcats Rule came out with strong performances from Joseph Addai (RB – Ind / 19.15) and Tom Brady (QB – NE / 27.49) while browns backups took the lead with Baltimore (DEF – Bal / 23.30) and Matt Schaub (QB – Hou / 25.66). Next week, in an exciting undefeated showdown, browns backups (3-0) will face Guns of the Navarone (3-0) while Wildcats Rule (1-2) with play Pack-Men (1-2).

** Boss Hogg DEF GrNeGgSnHaM by 16.73 points **
GrNeGgSnHaM might need an injury cart much like some of his key players after a beat down from Boss Hogg this last weekend. GrNeGgSnHaM could not have forseen Kenny Brit (WR – Ten / -0.35) blowing his ACL/MCL during the game but kept it reasonably close with a strong showing from Rob Gronkowski (TE – NE / 20.70). Boss Hogg came out the better with nice games from Tim Hightower (RB – Was / 18.25) and Jason Pierre-Paul (DE – NYG / 18.50). Next week Boss Hogg (1-2) will play two hand touch (1-2) while GrNeGgSnHaM (1-2) will play Ron Paul 4 Lyfe (2-1).

** Mad Max’s Mama DEF Pack-Men by 21.13 points **
Ruh-roh! Pack-Men might have some serious drafting to do after very anemic performances from DeSean Jackson (WR – Phi / 4.41), Reggie Wayne (WR – Ind / 1.95), and Beanie Wells (RB – Ari / 0.00) failed to pull him ahead of Mad Max’s Mama’s Wes Welker (WR – NE / 28.30), Ahmad Bradshaw (RB – NYG / 21.70) destructive duo. Next week Mad Max’s Mama (2-1) will play RN to the Rescue (1-2) while Pack-Men (1-2) will play Wildcats Rule (1-2).

** Sex Panther DEF Sobchak Security by 24.19 points **
This must have been one of Sex Panthers “40% of the time I sometimes win” games as he pulled himself out of the slump with a much needed win against Sobchak Security. Helping Sex Panther’s cause was Lance Briggs (LB – Chi / 26.00) and Shaun Suisham (K – Pit / 18.00). Sobchak Security tried to offset his bipolar quarterback's, Philip Rivers (QB – SD / 5.12), bad game with a strong showing from Adrian Peterson (RB – Min / 20.35) to no avail. Next week Sex Panther (1-2) will play Pornada (0-3) while Sobchak Security (2-1) will play The Little Guy (2-1).

** Ron Paul 4 Lyfe DEF PorNada by 47.57 points **
This week all of the planets aligned in Ron Paul 4 Lyfe’s favor with a personal all-time best of 185.96 points against PorNada, who despite a strong game, was left destroyed in the path of the juggernaut. PorNada fought hard with excellent games from Aaron Rodgers (QB – GB / 25.39) and Daniel Thomas (RB – Mia / 25.85) but Deion Branch (WR – NE / 0.00) felt the ill effects of a Wes Welker (WR – NE / 28.30) dominated game. Ron Paul 4 Lyfe’s gamble on unsure running backs paid off with a very strong game from Ryan Matthews (RB – SD / 32.45) while Jermichael Finley (TE – GB / 24.00) had a very nice 3 touchdown day. Next week Ron Paul 4 Lyfe (2-1) will play GgNeGgSnHaM (1-2) while PorNada (0-3) will try to break his losing streak against Sex Panther (1-2).

** The Little Guy DEF two hand touch by 60.87 points **
In a scene reminiscent of a Troma snuff film The Little Guy watched in glee as two hand touch had a total meltdown, only scoring a team total of 62.02 points. With only two players breaking 10.00 points, Matt Ryan (QB – Atl / 10.30) and Matt Forte (RB – Chi / 10.35), this matchup was over before it even started. The Little Guy’s Darren McFadden (RB – Oak / 31.15) and Matthew Stafford (QB – Det / 23.21) sealed the deal. Next week The Little Guy (2-1) will play Sobchak Security (2-1) while two hand touch (1-2) will play Boss Hogg (1-2).

ASS-KICKING OF THE WEEK:
** Guns of the Navarone DEF RN to the Rescue by 70.99 points **
Much like kicking puppies Guns of the Navarone also enjoyed handing RN to the Rescue another AKOTW. Where is the mercy Jeff??? Guns of the Navarone had an exceptional team with a combined total of 188.64 points. Leading the 20+ point club was Mark Sanchez (QB – NYJ / 27.18), LeSean McCoy (RB – Phi / 25.80), Maurice Jones-Drew (RB – Jac / 21.10), and Ray Lewis (LB – Bal / 23.00). RN to the Rescue’s Drew Brees (QB – NO / 30.45) was unable to offset her terrible WR corp. Next week Guns of the Navarone (3-0) will play browns backups (3-0) while RN to the Rescue (1-2) will play Mad Max’s Mama (2-1)

RON PAUL’S GOLD STANDARD MVP OF THE WEEK:
This week’s RPGSMVPOTW goes to future Hall of Fame stud Ryan Matthews (RB – SD / 32.45). Fighting over the key Chargers running back position with Mike Tolbert (RB – SD / 4.90) Matthews is showing his grit and determination to become a San Diego superstar. See kids, this is much like how an unregulated, free market economy works. Competition! Competition is key and don’t let those snooty, Harvard-educated economists tell you otherwise!

Season 2011 Week 02 Recap

Another week has come and gone in the world of FANTASY FOOTBALL and team managers are starting to get a feel for who will be part of their winning team and who will join the flaming garbage pile that is the Seattle Seahawks. A lot of close games this week which is good for parity….unless you’re on the losing side, in which case I would recommend a handle of Fleischmanns Vodka, 12 bucks at your local supermarket!

BARN-BURNER OF THE WEEK:
** The Little Guy DEF Ron Paul 4 Lyfe by 4.28 points **
In a close fight that was not decided until late Monday night The Little Guy proved the better with strong contenders in Matthew Stafford (QB – Det / 30.73) and Darren McFadden (RB – Oak / 28.90) while Ron Paul 4 Lyfe continued to ride the Buffalo bandwagon with Ryan Fitzpatrick (QB – Buf / 26.73). Next week The Little Guy (1-1) will play two hand touch (1-1) while Ron Paul 4 Lyfe (1-1) will play PorNada (0-2).

** Wildcats Rule DEF Sex Panther by 4.63 points **
Does James Laurinaitis (LB – StL / 19.50) sound like a medical condition to anyone else? Well in this showdown it was still not enough to take down Wildcats Rule’s Tom Brady (QB – NE / 30.71). With poor showings from both teams WR corp- Mike Williams (WR – TB / 1.55), Plaxico Burress (WR – NYJ / 0.0), and Julio Jones (WR – Atl / 1.95) there is certainly room for improvement from both offensive-wise. Next week Wildcats Rule (1-1) will play browns backups (2-0) while Sex Panther (0-2) will play Sobchak Security (2-0).

** Mad Max’s Mama DEF Boss Hogg by 9.06 points **
In an interesting match between Mad Max’s Mama’s consistent roster with Patrick Willis (LB – SF / 18.00) and Ben Roethlisberger (QB – Pit / 17.05) vs Boss Hogg’s bipolar team featuring Peyton Hillis (RB – Cle / 30.35) and Jay Cutler (Qb – Chi / 11.88) Mad Max’s Mama prevailed. Both teams had some of the lowest points totals for the week and I bet their managers will be making some major adjustments before the next game. Mad Max’s Mama (1-1) will play Pack-Men (1-1) while Boss Hogg (0-2) will play GrNeGgSnHaM (1-1).

** Sobchak Security DEF two hand touch by 11.72 points **
In a high-scoring game Sobchak Security took out two hand touch with very strong games from Adrian Peterson (RB – Min / 33.55) and Shonn Greene (RB – NYJ / 18.75). two hand touch was no slouch with an all-around consistent double digits team featuring Matt Ryan (QB – Atl / 27.90), Miles Austin (WR – Dal / 27.80), and New York (Def – NYJ / 23.00) among his top points earners. Next week Sobchack Security (2-0) will play Sex Panther (0-2) while two hand touch (1-1) will play The Little Guy (1-1).

** browns backups DEF Pack-Men by 21.95 points **
browns backups’s strong running back duo Michael Turner (RB – Atl / 24.05) and Jahvid Best (RB – Det / 27.65) put the team on their backs to lead him to another win. Pack-Men, despite strong games from Beanie Wells (RB – Ari / 17.65) and Michael Vick (QB – Phi / 16.99) could not get even one of his players to break the 18 point barrier, leading to his defeat. Next week browns backups (2-0) will play Wildcats Rule (1-1) while Pack-Men (1-1) will play Mad Max’s Mama (1-1).

** Guns of the Navarone DEF PorNada by 26.13 points **
Guns of the Navarone, despite only 4 of his 12 players having winning games, continued his strong start to the season with LeSean McCoy (RB – Phi / 27.80) and Vincent Jackson (WR – SD / 23.10) picking up the slack for Antonio Gates (TE – SD / 0.00). PorNada had another decent game from Brett Favre wannabe Aaron Rodgers (QB – GB / 23.21) but that was not enough to make up for poor showings from LeRon Landry (S – Was / 0.00) and Davone Bess (WR – Mia / 2.76). Next week Guns of the Navarone (2-0) will play RN to the Rescue (1-1) while PorNada (0-2) will play Ron Paul 4 Lyfe (1-1).

ASS-KICKING OF THE WEEK:
** GrNeGgSnHaM DEF RN to the Rescue by 57.49 points **
Holy moly! This week’s AKOTW showcased GrNeGgSnHaM’s team, with 6 players producing more than 15 points each, steamrolling RN to the Rescue’s Drew Brees (QB – NO / 26.60) and Arizona (Def – Ari / 11.84). Among GrNeGgSnHaM’s (Edi Note- I really, really hate typing your name) top points earners were Jeremy Maclin (WR – Phi / 24.35) and Tony Romo (QB – Dal / 20.90). Next week GrNeGgSnHaM (1-1) will play Boss Hogg (0-2) while RN to the Rescue (1-1) will play Guns of the Navarone (2-0).

RON PAUL’S GOLD STANDARD MVP OF THE WEEK:
This week’s RPGSMVPOTW goes to Minnesota’s only reason not to burn the Metrodome down, Adrian Peterson (RB – Min / 33.55). Peterson managed to gash Tampa Bay’s defense with 120 yards and 2 TDs in a display reminiscent of the parting of the Red Sea. The question remains of whether Peterson will be able to lead the children of Minneapolis into the promised lands of Indianapolis. The answer is no by the way.

Season 2011 Week 01 Recap

Welcome back to the Unnatural Positions League! It was an interesting off-season to say the least. The biggest news being the possible halt of the season over labor disputes, followed by a very short training season and free agent drafting insanity. Whose team will remain supreme? Who will take the 2011 championship trophy and the accolades of the entire eastside Goodyear team? Only time will tell!

BARN-BURNER OF THE WEEK:
** Pack-Men DEF GrNeGgSnHaM by 7.46 points **
Pack-Men defeated GrNeGgSnHaM, despite strong competition from GgNeGgSnHaM, with Michael Vick (QB – Phi / 25.04) and Beanie Wells (RB – Ari / 21.10). GrNeGgSnHaM was no slouch with Kenny Britt (WR – Ten / 21.55) and Ray Rice (RB – Bal / 29.95) keeping it a close game. Next week Pack-Men (1-0) will play browns backups (1-0) and GrNeGgSnHaM will play RN to the Rescue (1-0).

** RN to the Rescue DEF The Little Guy by 8.78 points **
RN to the Rescue defeated The Little Guy with a nice performance from Drew Brees (QB – NO / 30.23) even though she was hit with a poor showing by Adam Vinatieri (K – Ind / -1.00). Perhaps the inactive Justin Tuck (DE – NYG / 0.00) proved to be The Little Guy’s downfall this week. Next week RN (1-0) will play GrNeGgSnHaM (0-1) and The Little Guy (0-1) will play Ron Paul 4 Lyfe (1-0).

** Ron Paul 4 Lyfe DEF Sex Panther by 20.34 points **
Ron Paul 4 Lyfe defeated Sex Panther on the back of a surprising showing from Ryan Fitzpatrick’s strongest career game (QB – Buf / 31.51) while Sex Panther had a strong points leader in Sebastian Janikowski (K – Oak / 18.00) with a NFL record tying field goal of 63-yards. Next week Ron Paul 4 Lyfe (1-0) will play The Little Guy (0-1) and Sex Panther (0-1) will play Wildcats Rule (0-1).

** two hand touch DEF Wildcats Rule by 22.02 points **
two hand touch defeated Wildcats Rule with a consistent roster of top earners Matt Forte (RB – Chi / 23.15) and New York (Def – NYJ / 24.82) while Wildcats Rule’s Tom Brady (QB – NE / 36.19) had a record breaking game that was unable to offset the rather lackluster earnings from the rest of his roster. Next week two hand touch (1-0) will play Sobchak Security (1-0) and Wildcats Rule (0-1) will play Sex Panther (0-1).

** browns backups DEF Boss Hogg by 37.23 points **
browns backups certainly relied on their defensive slots, Baltimore (Def – Bal / 22.74) and Terrell Suggs (LB – Bal / 26.50) to overcome an anemic performance by Boss Hogg’s offense with only David Akers (K – SF / 19.00) and Jamaal Charles (RB – KC / 15.00) breaking the 15 point barrier. Next week browns backups (1-0) plays Pack-Men (1-0) and Boss Hogg (0-1) plays Mad Max Mama (0-1).

** Guns of the Navarone DEF Mad Max’s Mama by 41.75 points **
GotN came out of the season opener as the team to beat with an astonishing 174.32 points, far more than any other team in the league. Helping him were players San Francisco (Def – SF / 33.36), LeSean McCoy (RB - Phi / 26.85), and Maurice Jones-Drew (RB- Jac / 22.85). MMM had a yawn-inspiring performance from Ben Roethlisberger (QB – Pit / 7.75) but a nice showing from Wes Welker (WR – NE / 22.00). Next week Guns of the Navarone (1-0) plays PorNada (0-1) and Mad Max’s Mama (0-1) plays Boss Hogg (0-1).

ASS-KICKING OF THE WEEK:
** Sobchak Security DEF PorNada by 56.02 points **
In another strong, defensive win Sobchak Security destroyed the competition with top-notch games by Chicago (Def – Chi / 27.34) and Antoine Winfield (CB – Min / 22.62) while PorNada, despite strong games by Aaron Rodgers (QB – GB / 28.99) and Brian Urlacher (LB – Chi / 25.44) fell flat with goose-eggs from Laurence Tynes (K – NYG / 0.00), Bradie James (LB – Dal / 0.00), and Pittsburgh (Def – Pit / -0.80). Next week Sobchak Security (1-0) plays two hand touch (1-0) and PorNada (0-1) plays Guns of the Navarone (1-0).

RON PAUL’S GOLD STANDARD MVP OF THE WEEK:
This week’s RPGSMVPOTW goes to none other than Tom Brady (QB – NE / 36.10) with a monster passing game of 517 yards including 4 TDs. Harnessing the power of Satan, ala Bill Belichick, Brady was able to suck the life essence out of Miami’s secondary, feeding gluttonously on blown coverage routes. News sources quoted Brady after the game saying “I have salted the earth with the tears of Sapp”.
